Studio Team Leader

    Kevin Heidorn is a skilled designer with a passion for creativity and a confidence gained from the successful completion of numerous high profile architectural projects. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Auburn University. Heidorn has over eighteen years of experience in all phases of design, encompassing interiors, renovation projects, and ground-up construction, which has resulted in the knowledge necessary to proficiently engage projects from beginning to end. His expertise in various project types includes hospitality, multi-family residential, custom homes and resort villas, academic, commercial, and industrial buildings for projects throughout the United States, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

    Heidorn’s project experience includes an 800-room, 430,000 SF (40,000m2) resort hotel for Disney in Asia; 90,000 SF (8,360m2) Hotel and Residential Tower in Brooklyn, New York; the 1,430-key Delano and Mondrian Convention Resort Hotels in Las Vegas; the 300-acre (122-hectare) Kempinski Lavender Bay Golf Resort in Thessaly, Greece; the 1,300,000 SF (120,000m2) Isla Moda Mixed-Use Development in Dubai; Sonesta Resort Condo Hotel with 350 keys and 37 residential units on the beachfront in Key Biscayne, Florida; the Huxindao 88 Gardens luxury residential development comprised of 25 towers of varying heights and 60 three-story townhouses in Xiamen, China; the 2,875,000 SF (267,000m2) Marina + Beach Towers in Dubai; the 1,500,000 SF (140,000m2) Waterfront Hotel and Residences in Dubai; the 1,285,000 SF (120,000 m2) Al Najada Hotel and Bank in Doha, Qatar; and concepts for the major renovation of Hyatt Regency’s flagship hotel in Chicago and an upcoming 650-acre (265-hectare) 5-star destination resort and spa in Qatar.

    An obsession with design, combined with a rational approach to balancing real-world project parameters, has propelled Heidorn as a team leader on many large-scale national and international projects. Through these experiences, he has developed the ability to synthesize project information quickly and develop design concepts efficiently. The addition of strong communication skills completes his contribution to the team, assuring clients of his effectiveness as a director of major, complex design efforts.

    Heidorn’s design and leadership abilities are complimented by his personal interest in computer technology. As an early adopter of BIM technology, he has promoted its use in design and document production, often lending his expertise to advise corporate software development. Other personal interests include sailing, cycling, reading, and gardening.
